In a small fishing village on the banks of the East Sea, a club-footed, cleft-lipped man marries a fifteen-year-old girl. The couple have one child, their beloved daughter Sunja. I enjoyed the multi-generational story. I felt I could relate to the characters because they felt like real people. It truly is an epic tale that helps you see history through a different lens.
